After the stepper motor driver passed the manual test, I hooked up the driver to the motherboard and was able to successfully move the stepper motor repeatedly.

Manually testing RepRap motor driver. Bypassing motherboard, sending step pulse using push button. The stepper motor was being very unpredictable following the regular test steps on the RepRap wiki. This method allow us to determine if we had functioning stepper motor drivers.
